CALLED OUT
Hadassah sat in silence, her heart heavy with a weight she couldn’t explain. It felt like a burden pressing on her shoulders, invisible but suffocating. She felt far from God, disconnected. Her quiet times weren’t as intimate as they used to be. Even worship songs, once powerful in stirring her spirit, now felt dry and hollow.
“Oh God,” she whispered, “what is wrong with me?”
A still, small voice broke through the silence:
“John 15:19…”
Without hesitation, Hadassah reached for her Bible. Flipping through its pages, her eyes landed on the verse:
John 15:19 (NKJV)
“If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”
Her heart stilled. “Holy Spirit,” she murmured, “please explain this to me.”

“Hadassah, my beloved,” came the gentle reply, “I have called you out of this world — out of their lifestyle, their culture, their beliefs, even their songs…”
The voice continued with love, but truth:“Lately, you’ve been feeding yourself with the things of the world. You see a TikTok trend, and you jump on it. You sing along. You engage. But what sets you apart? I have called you out. You can no longer live like one of them.”
Understanding dawned. So this was the reason for the dryness. The distance.
“Yes,” the Holy Spirit affirmed. “You cannot fill your heart with the world and expect room for My Spirit. Light and darkness cannot coexist. I have called you out of darkness into My marvelous light. But your heart has been tainted, your tongue defiled, because you allowed the world’s songs and influence in.”
Tears welled in Hadassah’s eyes. “Father,” she whispered, “I’m sorry. Please have mercy. Purge me. Cleanse me. I choose light. I choose You. I will no longer engage in the things of this world. I know now—I have been called out.”
Dearly Beloved,
You have been called out of the world. You have been called out of darkness.
A child of a king does not eat with beggars on the street or imitate their way of life, neither should you.
Once, we were under sin—slaves of Satan, as Ephesians 2:2 tells us:
Ephesians 2:2 (CEV)
“You followed the ways of this world and obeyed the devil. He rules the world, and his spirit has power over everyone who doesn't obey God.”
I encourage you to read the entire chapter and meditate deeply on it.
But now, beloved, you are no longer of the world. You have been called out into God’s Kingdom! That means you can no longer live as one under Satan’s rule.
You cannot sing the songs of darkness and still claim to walk in the light. No! You are either for light or for darkness—you cannot serve both.
1 John 2:15 (NKJV)
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
The Word is clear: If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
You cannot love gospel songs and still delight in worldly ones. You cannot claim to honor the Bible while living in contrary to its standards.
Beloved, you have been called out!
Do not mingle with darkness. Stand for Jesus and stand for Him wholeheartedly. You cannot remain on the fence. Never!
As believers, we are called to hate iniquity not tolerate it, not merely dislike it, but truly hate it. Why? Because God lives in you, and God Himself hates iniquity. If His Spirit dwells in you, you cannot and should not find pleasure in the things of the world.
You have been called out of darkness so that you may shine forth His marvelous light!
